Landscapes...Figures

In the past my subjects have been primarily landscapes, recently I have been interested in investigating the emotional impact of the figure.   Currently I am exploring a new series of pastel works called "From Dust to Dust" where the figures are emerging out of the earth, similar to landscape forms yet distinctly human.

Physicality of Painting

While relishing the physicality of painting with broad strokes as well as the more tempered and methodical application of glazes, I feel the pleasure of exploring the expressive qualities of the paint mediums.

Whether I am painting isolated from or in among people, I love the process of painting. For me painting offers an opportunity to move an idea from a concept into a tangible reality in the work of art.that then can be shared and cherished with others.
