Bottle with Glass and Fruit

A green bottle and wine glass share the table with warm-colored fruit, purple grapes, and leafy branches. Expressive oil brushwork captures a rich, abundant arrangement.

Bottle with Glass and Fruit presents a green bottle and clear stemmed glass beside a richly colored arrangement of fruit, purple grapes, and leafy branches. Warm red and golden fruit rise behind the glassware, while grapes trail toward the foreground. Red fabric beneath the objects brings the varied colors into a lively, unified setting.

Judith Reidy’s oil brushwork gives each surface a different character. Pale reflections trace the glass, darker green strokes shape the bottle, and rounded patches of color describe the fruit. Leaves and branches add irregular lines around the more stable forms, making the arrangement feel abundant and animated.

The composition invites the eye to move between upright glassware and the spilling shapes of the grapes and foliage. Contrasts of warm fruit, cool greens, and deep purples give the painting its richness. This still life makes a familiar tabletop gathering an opportunity to enjoy color, texture, and the changing effects of light.
