Our House in the Shade presents a home nestled beneath a leafy canopy. A red door, pale steps, and an American flag stand out among shrubs and warm yellow-green walls.
The trees create patches of shelter and sunlight across the entrance and garden. Judith Reidy’s oil brushwork connects the foliage to the architecture, using lively greens to soften the house’s firmer edges.
The painting celebrates the everyday character of a home made familiar through care and use. Its welcoming approach may recall a favorite front door, a neighborhood walk, or the comfort of returning to a place you know.
Medium: Oil.
