Wendies House presents a home whose pointed roof and pale window trim stand against darker surrounding trees. The close viewpoint gives the house an intimate presence within its leafy setting.
Muted greens and warm earth tones connect the architecture to the garden. Oil brushwork brings variety to the foliage and ground, while the windows and roofline keep the subject clearly defined.
This original painting has been sold and is retained as a record of the work. Its affectionate attention to a home reflects an interest in the places that become memorable through everyday familiarity.
