Bottle with Glass and Plate turns a simple arrangement of tableware into a study of color and pattern. A plate with vivid concentric rings fills the foreground, while a green bottle and a glass of dark red wine stand behind it. Red cloth folds across the table, contrasting with cool shadows in the surrounding space.

Painted from life by Judith Reidy, this oil still life pairs the plate’s circular rhythm with the upright shape of the bottle and the curved bowl of the glass. The rings draw the eye inward, then lead it back toward the glassware. Loose brushwork and bright reflections give the objects character without losing the strength of their larger shapes.

The empty plate introduces a sense of anticipation, echoing the original description of a setting awaiting cheese and fruit. Even before the food arrives, the patterned dish, colored cloth, and reflective glass offer plenty to enjoy. The painting finds warmth and visual energy in an ordinary moment at the table.
