Bottle with Glass of Burgundy brings a green bottle and a generous glass of red wine into a close, colorful view. Warm red fabric stretches beneath the pair, while blue and green shadows fill the space behind them. The wine’s deep color provides a rich center within the glass, edged by pale reflections.
Judith Reidy’s oil brushwork contrasts the straight sides of the bottle with the rounded bowl and slender stem of the glass. The bottle’s label offers a lighter passage among the stronger colors. Angled areas of cloth and shadow guide the eye through the composition, giving this small arrangement a sense of movement.
The scene suggests a quiet setting for conversation. Its interest comes from the relationship between two familiar objects and their surroundings: transparent and solid, upright and curved, cool green and warm red. It invites the viewer to pause over the colors and light of a relaxed tabletop moment.
